Sony Corporation announced a significant leadership transition on Wednesday, detailing changes to key executive positions that will become effective April 1, 2025.
Following a unanimous vote by the board of directors, Mr. Hiroki Totoki has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Sony Corporation. He previously served the company as President, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Financial Officer, while also holding the position of Chairman of Sony Interactive Entertainment.
Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) announced organizational changes, appointing Hideaki Nishino as President and Chief Executive Officer. Herman Hulst has been named Chief Executive Officer of the newly established Studio Business Group, reporting directly to Mr. Nishino. This restructuring places Game Studio Business under the direct oversight of SIE.
Herman Hulst oversees first-party game development, publishing, and business operations across PlayStation consoles, PCs, and other media via PlayStation Productions.
Following the appointment of Hiroki Totoki as Chief Executive Officer, Kenichiro Yoshida will continue in his role as Chairman of the Board of Sony Corporation. Mr. Yoshida has served concurrently as President and Chief Operating Officer since April 2023.
