The Man in the White Van Arrived to Select Theatres This Weekend

Fan-owned film company Legion M has announced that its thriller film, The Man in the White Van, will arrive on Friday, December 13th, leading into this weekend in select theaters.

Based on true events. In 1975 Florida, a series of violent disappearances go unnoticed, and young Annie (Madison Wolfe) is targeted by an ominous white van that stalks her every move. As the menace escalates, her parents dismiss her fears, and Annie is soon plunged into a terrifying nightmare that shatters her world. Also starring Brec Bassinger, Skai Jackson, Ali Larter, and Sean Astin. Written & directed by Warren Skeels.

The reviews so far have been excellent, with some even referring to it as “Hitchcockian.” Notable quotes include:

The app announced that it now serves four regions in Jamaica, including Montego Bay, expanding from previously serving only Kingston, St. Andrew, Portmore, and Ocho Rios.

No information is available on whether the platform will expand to additional locations like May Pen, Negril and Mandeville for Jamaica in the future.

Apple has announced that they will be expanding their interests in Saudi Arabia.

The expansion starts with the arrival of the Apple Online Store in Saudi Arabia in the Summer of 2025 and also looks to launch new flagship Apple stores in the country in 2026.

the company plans to create an iconic retail store in Diriyah at a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Our teams are looking forward to deepening our connections with customers, and to bringing the best of Apple to help people across this country explore their passions, build their businesses, and take their ideas to the next level.

Apple CEO, Tim Cook shared in the announcement that

These new options for Saudi Arabia will allow customers to enjoy unique and personalized experiences, whether they’re shopping online, in-store, or through the Apple Store App. With the help of Apple team members, Saudi Apple fans can compare products, choose financing options, and set up new devices.

This new expansion strengthens Apple’s retail presence, investments, and activities in the region. It further underscores the company’s commitment to the area, as evidenced by the launch of the region’s first Apple Developer Academy in Riyadh in 2021, a joint venture with the Saudi Arabian government, Tuwaiq Academy, and Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University.

The academy has trained nearly 2,000 students, who are now contributing to the country’s growing app economy. Apple is further expanding its educational initiatives with co-ed Foundation Programs, teaching coding and app development.

The company has spent over 10 billion SAR with local businesses and is supporting the country’s digital transformation. Apple Pay has also been adopted widely, offering a secure and convenient payment solution since its launch in 2019.

Apple’s continued investment in Saudi Arabia, while potentially lucrative, carries significant political and ethical risks. The nation’s human rights record, particularly its treatment of women, LGBTQ+ individuals, and political dissidents, is widely condemned. By expanding its presence, Apple risks tarnishing its reputation as a company that values innovation and inclusivity. Furthermore, such investments can be seen as tacit approval of the Saudi government’s actions, potentially undermining global efforts for human rights reform.

The BBC’s Doctor Who has dropped a new Trailer for The Doctor Who 2024 Christmas special, featuring Nicola Coughlan (as Joy) and Ncuti Gatwa (as the Doctor).

Coughlan is known for her role as Diplomat Barbie in the Barbie world and as the romantic lead of Bridgerton.

The special is set to premiere on Disney+ on December 25, 2024.

The story revolves around Joy checking into a London hotel and discovering a secret doorway to the Time Hotel.

The Doctor is back on his own, having parted ways with his companion Ruby Sunday at the end of the 14th season.

The special is written by former Doctor Who showrunner Steven Moffat, who also wrote the 14th-season episode “Boom.”
