One Great Studio Acquires DRT Communications for J$115 Million, Creating Caribbean “House of Brands”

KINGSTON, Jamaica (February 18, 2025)One Great Studio (1GS), a leading Caribbean digital agency, has announced that they have acquired DRT Communications (DRT), a prominent public relations and strategic communications firm, for a total consideration of J$115 million.

This strategic acquisition significantly expands 1GS’s regional footprint, creating a full-service agency offering expertise in digital marketing, public relations, and media intelligence.

DRT’s established corporate and public sector client base strengthens 1GS’s revenue streams and service portfolio.

“This acquisition represents a defining moment for both companies,” said Danielle Terrelonge, founder of DRT, who will now lead Marketing Communications, PR, Strategic Communications, and Media Monitoring at 1GS. She emphasized the combined entity’s increased reach and the opportunity to leverage digital technology solutions.

The deal includes a J$35 million performance-based earnout over three years, with Ryan Strachan, CEO of Sweat Equity Holdings, acting as the lead arranger.

Djuvane Browne will continue to serve as CEO of 1GS.

DRT was founded in 2008, has provided strategic communications services to over 100 brands, including public relations, crisis management, and media analytics. This expertise complements 1GS’s existing digital strengths, creating a “house of brands” across the Caribbean. All DRT employees will transition to 1GS, ensuring service continuity and leveraging new resources.

The Jamaica Stock Exchange Listed company, 1GS reported revenues of J$261.5 million and net profits of J$30.6 million for the nine months ending September 30, 2024.

The company’s first acquisition was a US-based SEO agency named High Voltage SEO(HVSEO), which has since been integrated into its operations. This integration proved successful, as within just over three months after the acquisition, the SEO division (formerly HVSEO) generated J$90.53 million in revenue for 1GS.

The acquisition aligns with 1GS’s strategic vision to become the Caribbean’s most dominant and globally competitive agency brand.
