Fontana Limited (FTNA) acquires Jamaica’s Monarch Pharmacy Chain

In a move that signals significant growth, Fontana Limited (FTNA) has announced the signing of an agreement to acquire the Monarch chain of pharmacies from Gerk Limited. This acquisition has the potential to expand FTNA’s retail presence to a total of 11 locations across Jamaica.

Monarch Pharmacy operates four convenient locations: three in Kingston (Sovereign Centre, Loshusan Plaza, and Tropical Plaza) and one in Portmore (Sovereign Village).

The company expects to finalize the transaction during the third quarter of the fiscal year (January to March 2025). Following the acquisition, FTNA plans to integrate the Monarch pharmacies into its existing network throughout the remainder of 2025.
