CoinPayments Delists MaidSafeCoin, Omni and Tether USD Coin

Cryptocurrency payment processor CoinPayments.net has announced the delisting of three cryptocurrencies:

  • MaidSafeCoin (MAID)
  • Omni (OMNI)
  • The older Omni Layer version of Tether USD (USDT).

The delisting will take effect on February 15th, 2025, at the end of the day (EST).

Users holding balances of these cryptocurrencies on the CoinPayments.net platform are urged to withdraw their funds before the deadline. While payment functionality for these three coins has already been disabled, users still have access to their wallets and can withdraw their assets.

It’s crucial to note that only the Omni Layer version of USDT is affected; other versions like ERC20 and TRC20 will remain active on the platform. CoinPayments.net emphasizes this distinction to avoid any confusion among users.

The company hasn’t explicitly stated the reason for the delisting, but such decisions are often made due to factors such as low trading volume, security concerns, or changes in regulatory compliance. Users requiring assistance should refer to the help and support section on the CoinPayments.net website.

This announcement serves as a critical reminder for users to take action before the February 15th deadline to avoid losing access to their MAID, OMNI, and Omni Layer USDT. A failure to act promptly could result in the irretrievable loss of funds.
