Web3 domain name Unstoppable Domains (UD), have announced that it has closed over US$65 million in Series A funding at a US$1 Billion post-money valuation.

The funding round was led by Pantera Capital.
Other included investors such as Mayfield, Gaingels, Alchemy Ventures, Redbeard Ventures, Spartan Group, OKG Investments, Polygon, CoinDCX, CoinGecko, We3 syndicate, Rainfall Capital, Broadhaven, El Ventures, Hardyaka, and Alt Tab Capital, along with previous investors Boost VC and Draper Associates.
Prior to this funding round, UD had only done over $7 million in VC funding.
Unstoppable’s need for funding was bolstered by the continued growth in popularity of Web3 and NFTs. it wants to bring web3 “technology to the world”.
Unstoppable domains will use the new funding to fuel its “product innovation” and grow its partnerships within the web3 space, growing and building its platform for user-owned and portable digital identity.
Founded in 2018, Unstoppable Domains has always centred its vision around giving people and not companies “the power to own their identity on web3”.
It has since garnered over 2.5+ Million registered domains and over 300+ partners/integrations.
Unstoppable Domain has simplified access to more than 150 Web3 applications, replaced lengthy crypto wallet addresses on over 80 wallets and exchanges, created decentralized websites, and building your web3 identity.
An Unstoppable domain can cost anywhere from US$40 to US$40,000 depending on whether the name is a common dictionary word, its keyword length and/or a brand name.
Unstoppable domain offers the .crypto, .nft, .wallet, .blockchain, .x, .bitcoin, .dao, .888 and .zil domain entensions.
These domain names are accessible either natively or via browser plugin/addon. Both the Brave and Opera web browsers support unstoppable domain extensions. Albeit currently only .crypto domains minted to the Ethereum are accessible, UD hopes to natively resolve all domains on Polygon in the future.
Other web browsers such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Edge can simply install UD Extension (Chromium-based Browsers) or UD Addon (Firefox) to gain access to the DNS.
