TWIND 5/22/2025 – Lives to Live

Redmond, United States – This Week in Nintendo Downloads (TWIND) sees Nintendo Switch owners receiving a fresh batch of games to explore, along with a classic fighter joining the online service this week.

Leading the charge is a new entry in a popular life simulation series and a beloved arcade fighting game from the Nintendo 64 era.

Available now on the Nintendo eShop is FANTASY LIFE i: The Girl Who Steals Time. This new chapter in the Fantasy Life series lets players choose from 14 different “Lives” or roles, switching between them freely. The game involves exploring a new island full of mysteries, building your own town in the present, and venturing into the past to uncover secrets. Players can even team up with up to four friends online.

For members of Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack, the classic fighting game KILLER INSTINCT GOLD has joined the Nintendo 64 library. Originally released in 1996, this title features 10 fighters and various game modes including Arcade, Team, and Tournament modes for up to eight players. Players can hone their skills in Training mode to master the extensive moves and combos, aiming for those challenging Ultra Combos. You’ll need all the practice you can get to have a chance at landing a 70-hit Ultra Combo – and that’s if you’re not interrupted by a C-C-C-COMBO BREAKER! KILLER INSTINCT GOLD is available now for Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack members.

A look ahead shows several upcoming titles with pre-orders available now on the eShop for the Nintendo Switch 2 system, set to release on June 5th:

• HITMAN World of Assassination – Signature Edition: Step into the shoes of Agent 47 across content from HITMAN, HITMAN 2, and HITMAN 3, including the main campaigns, contracts, and escalations. • Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess: Experience Capcom’s imaginative action-strategy game, inspired by Japanese culture, now enhanced for the new Nintendo Switch 2 system. This game offers a variety of play options, including mouse controls. Embark on a mystical journey that uniquely blends dance-like sword action with strategic gameplay.  By pre-ordering, you will receive bonus in-game items and a captivating artbook. Pre-order today on the Nintendo eShop to get bonuses such as the Mazo Talisman: Walking Basket, Mazo Talisman: Astral Projection, and the enchanting Kunitsu-Gami artbook. Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess will be available on June 5.

• Survival Kids: A co-op adventure where four curious kids are shipwrecked on a mysterious island after a storm, needing players’ help to work together and find their way home. Setting out to sea upon their ramshackle boat, a sudden, ferocious storm hurls them into a hidden world brimming with danger and mystery. Nintendo Music and Activities

Fans of retro game music can now find the soundtracks for the original Kid Icarus (both Famicom Disk System and NES versions) on the Nintendo Music smart-device app for Nintendo Switch Online members.

Nintendo also released a new episode of its Creator’s Voice video series, offering a peek into the development of Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment, which is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 this winter. You can watch the video on YouTube here.

Additionally, the popular Animal Crossing: New Horizons theme has been added to the free Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo app update, letting islanders wake up to familiar tunes.
