PriceSmart, Inc. (PSMT), operator of 55 warehouse clubs, has announced its results for the fiscal second quarter of 2025, which ended on February 28, 2025.
Second Quarter Financial Highlights
- Total revenues increased 5.6% to $1.36 billion.
- Net merchandise sales increased 5.8% to $1.33 billion.
- Comparable net merchandise sales increased 6.7%.
- Operating income was $65.3 million.
- Net income increased 11.4% to $43.8 million, or $1.45 per diluted share.
- Adjusted EBITDA was $87.0 million.
Year-to-Date Financial Results
- Total revenues increased 6.6% to $2.62 billion.
- Net merchandise sales increased 6.8% to $2.56 billion.
- Comparable net merchandise sales increased 6.2%.
- Operating income was $123.5 million.
- Net income increased 5.0% to $81.2 million, or $2.66 per diluted share.
- Adjusted EBITDA was $166.1 million.
According to their recent report, currency exchange rate fluctuations had a negative impact on profits for both net March sales and profits.
In addition, PriceSmart has opened its ninth warehouse club in Costa Rica. The new warehouse club is near San Jose.
With this new addition, the total club operations comes out to about 55 warehouse clubs.
They also plan to open a warehouse club in Guatemala in the summer.
