Power Boost Coming to TECNO SPARK 40 Series with New MediaTek Chip

Hong Kong – Smartphone maker TECNO is set to significantly upgrade the performance of its upcoming SPARK 40 Series, announcing it will be the first brand to feature MediaTek’s new Helio G200 chipset.

The powerful new processor will debut in the premium SPARK 40 Pro+ model, promising a noticeable performance jump just ahead of the series’ global launch in July.

According to the announcement, the MediaTek Helio G200 chipset offers over a 10% performance increase compared to its predecessor. This improvement is expected to translate into a smoother, faster user experience, enhancing everything from app launches to overall entertainment on entry-level smartphones.

The core of the SPARK 40 Pro+ will be the MediaTek Helio G200, a next-generation 4G chip built on TSMC’s advanced 6nm process. It features an octa-core CPU configuration designed for improved responsiveness and multitasking. Benchmark tests cited in the report place the Helio G200 at approximately 470,000 on AnTuTu, confirming the 10% performance uplift over the previous generation.

Graphics performance also sees a boost with an upgraded ARM Mali-G57 MC2 GPU, now operating at a higher frequency of 1.1GHz. This is expected to deliver a 10% improvement in single-core graphics processing, supporting richer gaming and multimedia experiences.

Dr. Yenchi Lee, General Manager of MediaTek’s Wireless Communications Business, stated that the Helio G200 allows TECNO to provide “superior performance,” enabling users to experience “flagship-level responsiveness.”

Joey Qu, TECNO senior product manager, added that the SPARK 40 Series, powered by the Helio G200, will “redefine what’s possible in its class” while maintaining TECNO’s signature slim design.

Beyond raw power, the SPARK 40 Pro+ will leverage the Helio G200 with TECNO’s custom algorithms to enable 1.5K super-resolution rendering, described as the strongest visual configuration in its price segment. This synergy aims to deliver sharper and more vibrant visuals. The new MediaTek chip also includes modem enhancements supporting DCSAR technology for more stable and efficient network connections, even in challenging signal areas.

The TECNO SPARK 40 Series is slated for a global market launch in July with more details about the series, which is expected to blend sleek design with enhanced power and AI features, are anticipated soon.
