Nintendo unveiled a wave of new games and a smart device app during its latest Nintendo Direct presentation.
The March 27, 2025, showcase highlighted titles coming to the Nintendo Switch in 2025 and beyond, including Pokémon Legends: Z-A, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, Rhythm Heaven Groove, Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream, and MARVEL Cosmic Invasion, according to a Nintendo press release.
A new app, Nintendo Today!, will deliver news, videos, and comics featuring Nintendo games and characters. The app will also provide information about the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 after its dedicated presentation on April 2nd. The app is free for anyone with a Nintendo Account and a compatible smart device, and is available for download from the App Store and Google Play starting March 27, 2025.
Pokémon Legends: Z-A takes players back to Lumiose City, first seen in Pokémon X and Pokémon Y. Players will choose from Chikorita, Tepig, or Totodile as their first partner Pokémon. The game features an urban redevelopment plot and the Z-A Royale tournament, launching late 2025.
Samus Aran gains Psychic Abilities in Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, as she explores the planet Viewros, which launches this year.
Other notable announcements include Rhythm Heaven Groove and Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream, both set to launch in 2026.
Nintendo is also introducing virtual game cards, a feature that simplifies digital game management and allows players to lend or borrow games. This feature will be available in late April via a system update and will also work with Nintendo Switch 2 systems at launch.
Several partner-developed games were also featured, including Tamagotchi Plaza (June 27), MARVEL Cosmic Invasion (Winter), STORY OF SEASONS: Grand Bazaar (Aug. 27), PATAPON 1+2 REPLAY (July 11), and DRAGON QUEST I & II HD-2D Remake (This year).
Some titles, including SaGa Frontier 2 Remastered, Rift of the NecroDancer, and Disney Villains Cursed Café, are available on Nintendo Switch starting March 27, 2025.
