Attention, space enthusiasts! Disney and Pixar have dropped a brand-new trailer for their upcoming animated feature film, Elio, and it looks out of this world!
The movie, set to release only in theaters on June 20, 2025, introduces us to Elio, an 11-year-old with a big imagination and an even bigger wish: to be abducted by aliens.
This summer, moviegoers will meet Elio, along with his Aunt Olga (voiced by recent Academy Award Winner, Zoe Saldaña), and Glordon, Elio’s unexpected first friend who happens to be an alien.
In this cosmic adventure, Elio will travel millions of miles across the universe, encountering a host of unique and otherworldly creatures. This journey will help him discover exactly where he belongs.
What to Expect from Elio
- A Cosmic Misadventure: The film tells the story of Elio, a space fanatic who gets beamed up to the Communiverse, an interplanetary organization with representatives from galaxies far and wide.

Elio is directed by Madeline Sharafian (Burrow Sparkshort), Domee Shi (Bao short, Turning Red) and Adrian Molina (co-screenwriter/co-director of Coco), and produced by Mary Alice Drumm (associate producer of Coco).
