Putnam County, New York, USA – Protecting vulnerable animals in Putnam County just got more accessible.
The Putnam County SPCA has announced a new partnership with SaferWatch, a safety and reporting platform, providing residents with a modern way to report suspected animal cruelty quickly and easily.
This initiative adds a new tool to the SPCA’s existing 24/7 cruelty hotline. Through the SaferWatch app, users can now submit tips directly to law enforcement officers at the Putnam County SPCA. The app allows for anonymous reporting or submission with contact information, and users can upload photos or videos to provide evidence of suspected cruelty. The SPCA can also send important notifications directly to app users.
“We are happy to provide, in addition to our 24/7 telephone hotline, an additional means to report animal cruelty in Putnam County,” stated Chief Ken Ross of the Putnam County SPCA in the announcement. He added that the easy-to-use app will allow users to report suspected cruelty and upload pictures directly, enabling the SPCA to send important notifications.
As a law enforcement agency, the Putnam County SPCA relies on credible information to take action. The report highlights that every submission through the SaferWatch app goes directly to SPCA officers, ensuring rapid review and response. This technology aims to make identifying and investigating animal cruelty more efficient, potentially saving animal lives and helping deter future abuse.
Geno Roefaro, CEO of SaferWatch, commented, “We’re honored to support the mission of the Putnam County SPCA and their dedication to animal welfare.” He explained that the platform is designed to connect the public with first responders, empowering communities to protect those who cannot speak for themselves by making reporting easy and sending real-time data to authorities.
Residents are encouraged to download the SaferWatch app (available on iOS and Android), select Putnam County SPCA, and use it to submit tips with text, photos, or video.
