Medal.tv Acquires Gif Your Game and Fuze.tv

Acquiring Cloud Capturing and Game Editing Leaders

Medal.tv has announced that they have acquired both Gif Your Game and Fuze.tv for an undisclosed sum.

Medal is one of the largest video game clip-sharing platforms across PC, console and Mobile. The acquisition of Gift Your Game, a gameplay recording platform and Fuze.tv, a video editing app is thus a complement to its products/services.

These acquisitions are a part of Medal’s goal of ” making moves towards building the best ways to capture and share 3D worlds in what will be known as the metaverse “.

Earlier this Year, Medal entered the live streaming market with the acquisition of Rawa.tv, a Twitch rival based in Dubai. Rawa was co-founded by Raya Dadah and Phil Jammal who joined Medal to work on integrating the platform, Rawa and Medal.

What’s Next?

The capabilities of both platforms will be integrated into the Medal platform.

Gif Your Game will remain independent as a lightweight app on your PC while posting and account management will be done inside the Medal Platform.

What about the clips? Nothing, Every storing and sharing clip will work just the same.

GYG account holders will be able to link their accounts to a medal account before the end of the year. Users are also be encouraged to create a Medal account and it will automatically be hooked up to your GYG account as long as you connect the same Discord account to Medal as you have linked to GYG.

The GYG Team of over 10 people will join Medal to start building video editing and clipping infrastructure for 3D environments. These 3D environments are the same technology that powered Cinematics (Boomerang to Instagram, CapCut to TikTok) but for editing video and clipping in 3D Worlds.

The local video capturing focus allows Medal to achieve a more manageable and sustainable infrastructure.

Medal plans to Launch a subscription service next year, 2022 which makes zero-impact cloud clipping & cinematics available for more games, such as Rocket League.
