Tokyo, Japan (May 27, 2025) – Casio Computer Co., Ltd. has announced the newest addition to its durable G-SHOCK watch lineup: the MTG-B4000.
This model joins the premium MT-G series and stands out with a distinctive frame developed through a collaborative process involving both human designers and AI technology.
The MTG-B4000 is the first Casio consumer timepiece to integrate generative AI technology into its development process.
According to the announcement, this advanced technology was used as a creative tool to explore novel design possibilities and overcome the challenges of creating a complex, unconventional structure that would be difficult to achieve through traditional methods alone. Images provided show the MTG-B4000B-1A2 and MTG-B4000-1A models, highlighting the unique frame design.
The design process began with proposals from human designers. The AI then conducted load simulations based on decades of G-SHOCK’s accumulated data on shock-resistant construction.
It proposed optimized structural configurations by evaluating factors such as strength, material characteristics, and machinability.
These AI-generated concepts were then refined and adjusted by skilled human designers through repeated testing.
The result is a frame that maintains G-SHOCK’s signature toughness while offering an aesthetic only achievable through this human-AI partnership.
Further enhancing shock resistance, a new approach integrates the band connection parts directly into the frame which allows the frame to absorb loads applied to the band, reducing impact on the watch’s center case.
Like other MT-G models, the MTG-B4000 utilizes a construction that leverages the properties of both metal and resin.
