Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort Celebrates a Decade of Southern Hospitality

Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, USA – A key part of the “Destination Dollywood” experience, Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort and Spa, is marking its 10th anniversary.

The 300-room resort, which officially opened its doors on July 27, 2015, fulfilled a long-held dream for entertainer Dolly Parton: to create a hotel where families visiting her theme park could extend their stay together.

Since its opening, the DreamMore Resort has proven popular, leading to the addition of a second hotel, Dollywood’s HeartSong Lodge & Resort, two years ago. This expansion solidifies Dollywood’s status as a major destination within the scenic Great Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee. The resort’s milestone comes as the theme park itself celebrates its 40th anniversary season this year, and Dollywood’s Splash Country water park marks its 25th season.

The resort embodies the same philosophy of guest service found in the park, where employees, known as “hosts,” treat visitors like family with heartfelt hospitality. Upon arrival, guests are welcomed with the resort’s signature pink lemonade and encouraged to relax in the rocking chairs lining the exterior porches.

Designed with family and multi-generational travel in mind, guest rooms offer various bed configurations. The “Camp DW” program provides family-oriented activities like crafts, music, and story times, encouraging quality time together rather than just a drop-off service for kids.

Dining at the resort’s full-service restaurant, Song & Hearth: A Southern Eatery, often features family-style meals with Southern classics. A menu staple is Stone Soup, a recipe adapted from a story Dolly shares about her mother feeding their large family.

The resort’s name, “DreamMore,” was inspired by Dolly’s encouragement to “Dream more. Learn more. Care more. Be more,” words inscribed at the base of the DreamMore Fountain. Other “Dolly-isms” are featured on posters in elevator landings throughout the property.

Tributes to Dolly can be found throughout the property, including butterfly motifs, her favorite animal, featured in sculptures, benches, and decor. The lobby displays some of her musical instruments, and a corridor showcases her album covers.

A unique “Dream Box” time capsule in the lower lobby contains a song Dolly wrote specifically for the resort’s opening, set to be revealed on her 100th birthday in 2046.

The resort also features a glamorous Dolly Parton Suite and a sparkly spa. DreamMore has received numerous awards, consistently recognized among the best theme park hotels in the country, praised for its comfortable, homey atmosphere and embodiment of Southern hospitality against the backdrop of the Smoky Mountains that have long inspired Dolly.

The entire resort recently underwent a refresh in preparation for its 10th anniversary year.

Guests staying at either Dollywood resort receive benefits like free shuttle service to the park, early entry, and the best ticket prices.

Dollywood, located in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, is a major theme park destination founded by Dolly Parton. Known for its blend of rides, shows, crafts, and Southern charm, along with a focus on family-friendly entertainment and hospitality, it draws millions of visitors annually to the Smoky Mountains region.
