Disney+ Doubles Down: Percy Jackson Gets Early Season 3 Greenlight

Good news for demigods! Disney+ has officially renewed Percy Jackson and the Olympians for a third season, even before the second season premieres this December.

The third season will adapt The Titan’s Curse, the third book in Rick Riordan‘s beloved series.

From the moment ‘Percy Jackson and the Olympians’ debuted, it was clear this series had struck a chord with fans of all ages,

said Ayo Davis, president of Disney Branded Television.

The show’s first season was a hit, ranking among the top five most-watched original series on streaming, according to Nielsen. The #percyjackson hashtag also garnered over 1 billion views on TikTok.

Rick Riordan expressed his excitement, stating, “This third season will be new territory for the screen, bringing fan favorites like the Hunters of Artemis and Nico di Angelo to life for the first time.” The renewal is seen as a “huge sign of commitment from Disney” and reflects the strong fan base.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians has received critical acclaim, earning 16 nominations at the Children’s and Family Emmy Awards.

The series also won the Kids Choice Award for Favorite Kids TV Show, and its stars, Walker Scobell and Leah Sava Jeffries, have received individual awards.

Season two of Percy Jackson and the Olympians, starring Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries, and Aryan Simhadri, recently wrapped production in Vancouver and will premiere on Disney+ this December.4 The series is executive produced by Rick Riordan, Jonathan E.
