The Barita Foundation, the Philanthropic arm of Jamaica’s Barita Investments firm has announced the availability of its Scholarships for the academic year 2022/2023.

The foundation offers scholarships dedicated to “making sure the youth of our nation have the opportunity to expand their horizons and achieve their dreams, no matter what obstacles they may face along the way”.

So what are the scholarships available?

Rita Humphries Lewin Early Child Education Scholarship

A scholarship dedicated to applicants pursuing early childhood studies.

Cornerstone/Barita CSEC/CAPE Scholarship

Open to applicants who will sit for CSEC/CAPE in the 2022/2023 academic year.

Cornerstone/Barita Primary Exit Profile (PEP) Scholarship

This scholarship is for those sitting the April 2022 PEP examinations.

Applicants are required to be a client and/or children of a Barita Investments client.

Cornerstone/Barita Tertiary Scholarship

Open to Tertiary/University applicants who are pursuing a first degree in the 2022/2023 academic year.

About The Barita Foundation

The Barita Foundation is a foundation aimed at youth development and initially began to take shape shortly after the Friends of St. Martin de Porres started an intervention programme at the St. Martin de Porres Primary School in Gordon Town.

The Barita Education Foundation assumed responsibility for the programme in 2004, it built its platforms on the same ideals: young people deserved every opportunity to learn, grow and thrive.
