Orange, Calif., November 21, 2025 – Forget traditional restaurant launches; the path to culinary stardom can sometimes start in the most unexpected places.

LJ’s Lil’ Cafe, the breakfast burrito joint that rocketed to viral fame from a humble shed outside a Home Depot in Cypress, CA, has just announced the grand opening of its second location.

This new spot in Orange, CA, isn’t just an expansion; it’s the brand’s first brick-and-mortar restaurant, offering hungry customers a comfortable indoor dining area to finally savor one of Orange County’s best breakfast burritos.

LJ’s has quickly amassed a loyal following among foodies and SoCal locals, not just for its monstrous breakfast burritos but for the ultimate Instagram-worthy cheese pull they deliver. Each burrito is a masterpiece, made fresh to order with a perfect ratio of crispy tater tots, scrambled eggs, and premium meats, creating a flavor and texture combination that’s nothing short of incredible. What truly elevates the LJ’s experience, however, is their lineup of homemade sauces and salsas. You can choose from:

  • Creamy Cilantro Crema: For an herbaceous flair.
  • Spicy Habanero: For a fiery kick.
  • LJ’s Signature: For a tangy, yet sweet, finish.

Beyond the sauces, LJ’s commitment to quality is evident, sourcing fresh, high-quality ingredients, including handmade tortillas and Portuguese Hawaiian sausage from local vendors.

The story behind LJ’s is as compelling as its burritos. Co-owned by Lydia and John Clarke, who met in the restaurant industry, their shared passion for food ignited a dream. When a shed outside a Home Depot became available, the couple took an unconventional leap, opening LJ’s Lil’ Cafe in September 2021.

“Starting out in a shed felt like the perfect way to dip our toes in,” co-founder John Clarke explained, crediting the community’s support for their rapid growth. Their ethos has always centered on “connection, family, and good food,” values they’re now thrilled to share with more of the Orange County community.

Indeed, family is the secret ingredient here. The inspiration for their popular breakfast burritos comes from Lydia’s mom, who used to make them for Lydia as a child, long before they became the cultural phenomenon they are today. That familial spirit extends to the business itself, with siblings and cousins filling various roles across both locations, many without prior restaurant experience.

Even when personal challenges arose with their young son’s health, forcing Lydia and John to seek outside help, the family bond prevailed. Joy Wilson, hired as General Manager, leveraged her extensive industry experience (including Chick-fil-A) to boost sales by 30% in her first year, proving that teamwork and trust are just as vital as the food itself.

The new Orange location promises the same drool-worthy breakfast burritos as its Cypress counterpart, but with added perks. Expect a gourmet coffee bar and new handheld lunch offerings, catering to a wider array of cravings throughout the day.

LJ’s Lil’ Cafe, with its focus on quality ingredients, homemade sauces, and a ‘treat every guest like family’ approach, is on a mission to bring genuine connection and a little kindness to every guest.

What began as a humble shed has organically grown into a viral sensation, a testament to simple food done right. If you’re in Southern California, isn’t it time you experienced the hype?
