Chipotle’s first restaurant opens in Dubai with Alshaya Group

Chipotle Mexican Grill has opened its first restaurant in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, in partnership with Alshaya Group.

The new location is at ‘The Beach’ in Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR) and is the first of two planned for the region.

The JBR restaurant is over 6,000 square feet and open from 10:00 am – 12:00 am local time on weekdays, and until 1:00 am local time on weekends.

Chipotle’s expansion into the Middle East began in April with a restaurant in Kuwait, followed by a second location last month.

Alshaya Group, Chipotle’s partner, has seen successful results from the Chipotle restaurants in Kuwait, exceeding their expectations.

Chipotle plans to open 285 to 315 new restaurants this year, with a long-term target of 7,000 locations in North America.
