Featherless.ai has developed a serverless AI inference platform that optimizes GPU use, cuts downtime, and dramatically lowers operational costs.

Eugene Cheah, Founder and CEO, explains that while AI has huge potential, cost and logistical hurdles often limit its use, especially in emerging markets. Featherless.ai tackles this by providing a simple, affordable, and scalable way to use open-source AI models.
The platform offers access to over 4,000 open-source AI models, with more added weekly. It uses a flat capacity pricing model, allowing businesses to scale their AI usage without unexpected costs. This lets them focus on developing and testing models. Featherless.ai plans to support all major AI modalities, including embeddings, vision, and speech.
Yuichiro Hikosaka, Airbus Ventures Principal, highlights the inefficiencies in current foundational AI models, particularly in multi-language performance. He believes Featherless.ai’s serverless platform is poised to address this global market.
Featherless.ai is also working on next-generation AI architectures that can lower inference costs and enable deployment on less powerful hardware. They are involved in the open-source RWKV foundation model project, which has been deployed on billions of devices. This aligns with their goal of creating better, more accessible AI models across languages.
